Assigned to 584BS, 394BG, 9AF USAAF. 19-Feb-45, Martin B-26G (#43-34208 ) on a mission to bomb the railroad bridge at Neuwied, Germany, when the aircraft received a direct burst of flak to the left engine on approach to target. The aircraft caught fire, dived away and was later seen to explode in mid-air prior to crashing. 1 x POW, 1 x POW*, 7 x KIA. MACR 12505
