Missing Air Crew Report 394. BOOM TOWN JR. "HARRY" Monroe Graham was lost on his first mission. The mission was aimed for the V Rocket sites. B-17G Nicknamed "MOONBEAM" was Shot down from heavy flack on 27 August 1943 over St Omer, France. The Moonbeam had lost her port side wing from flack fire and spun out of control. Harold was reported to have bailed out from the radio escape hatch. Unfortunately, the ship was in flames and his parachute caught fire upon his escape. It was assumed that he lost his life as a result of the parachute failure.
