There are conflicting records about the fate of P-47D 42-75160 LM-D.

MACR 9821 gives this serial number as being lost with 365th Fighter Group on 7 October 1944 over Belgium.

However, 42-75160 was LM-D "Saucy Shirley III" of Captain Ray Dauphin (56th Fighter Group, 62nd Fighter Squadron) and RALDA (Report of Aircraft Lost, Damaged, and Aborting) gives this serial number as being lost on 9 April 1944. It is probable that Canizares was flying this aircraft on 9 April 1944 when it was lost.

Given the number of entries for this serial number in RALDA relating to the 62nd Fighter Squadron, the balance of probabilities is that there is an error in the serial number recorded in MACR 9821.
