Arrived in England as a replacement aircraft for the 93rd BG aircraft in June 1943.  Transferred to the 389th BG before flying any missions with the 93rd BG.  This was Capt. Chester Spurrier's "regular" aircraft.  Flew on 1st Aug 43 Ploesti oil refinery raid piloted by Chester E Spurrier, returning safely to Libya.  It was lost in combat on February 24, 1944 while being flown by Lt. Gold's crew of the 566th BS, 389th BG, 8th AF. Target Gotha, Germany, lost 24th Feb 44 to German fighters, crashed at Massbach, Germany - 6 KIA, 4 POW. MACR 2940.
