A veteran's son has enclosed a letter with the print: '[Left to right standing:] Clayton Junkin, Bruno Miazgowicz, Rolland Allard, William Shawley, William Bemmie, Chris Ivanoff, [left to right kneeling:] Frank Boyer, Edward A Wick, Allan B Lemley, (?) Mack. This picture is of the original crew of "Wolf Pack" of the 562nd Squadron of the 388th Bomb Group, the Mighty Eighth Air Force. Edward Wick confirmed this to me... The photograph was taken in 1943 (?) in Sioux City, Iowa, before the group left for England. In the original, part of photograph of the B-17 was blacked out for secrecy reasons. The crew of "Wolf Pack" were of the original members of the 388th BG that arrived at Knettishall in June 1943. My Father was Lt Allan Lemley, co-pilot. Edward A Wick, pilot, is living in Texas and Minnesota, I spoke with him on February 14th 1998. He told me who was in the photograph and where it was taken.... He also gave me the names of two men in the photograph that were not on Mission No 19, that day in September '43. Bruno Miazgowicz was replaced on that day by Andrew Fabriszewski. (?) Mack was replaced by Robert Merriam.' Roger Freeman Collection
