  • A P-47D Thunderbolt (SX-M, serial number 42-22466) of the 352nd Fighter Squadron, 353rd Fighter Group that landed poorly on a hardstanding at Metfield airbase on the 14th of October 1943 after being righted and put back on its wheels. The tear in the wing was damage caused in the landing. Official caption on image:
