Crashed

Melun Airfield, France 2 January 1945 Pilot (Ralph J. Lackner) made a wheels-up emergency landing shortly after take-off due to loss of manifold pressure in left engine likely due to formation of carburetor ice. Frost build-up may have also contributed to mushy response. The pilot and gunner (Anthony J. Mussara) escaped with slight injuries. The aircraft was on it's 14th combat mission
