The aircraft was destroyed following a mid-air collision and crash while proceeding on a combat operational mission against enemy installations at Colbe, Germany on 25 Feb 1945. After take off, the planes began to assume their respective positions in the formation, and it was during this phase of the mission that this aircraft collided with another aircraft, causing both to crash and burn near the town of Marcoing, France. Only one member of the two crews survived.
