Failed to Return - Ploesti raid 1st Aug 43, pilot 1st Lt Henry A Lasco Jr. A/C lost as a result of AA, small arms fire and enemy fighters and belly landed with 5 crew members killed. The tail gunner, Sgt. Thomas Wood, was killed by ground fire before the crash.
