Burned up on hardstand #45 due to an electrical fire 8 November 1944.

"I was a beat up dog seeing my plane burn up. It was a beauty, in good shape. It had 15 straight missions and was going like a charm. On the way from the plane the Lt. told me that he had caused the fire. In the bomb bay, on the left side, is a box of fuses. The bakelite type that crumble when the fuse burns out. The box had an aluminum cover. He said he found the cover off the box, lying on the control cables. As he put the cover back on (with the power on) it touched a hot line and grounded it out causing an electrical fire. - Mario Munafo GCC
