This aircraft was assigned to Gil Talbot a few days after 4 Feb 1944. On 10 Feb 1944 Talbot scored an aerial victory with it reflected by the cross on the scoreboard. Talbot named his first P-51B-1 Peggy and this P-51B-7 Peggy II after his wife. Col Bickell also scored a victory with this aircraft on 6 Mar 1944. It was lost on 8 Apr 1944 while being flown by Jim Campbell (KIA).
